Electrical Project Engineer

The Electrical Project Engineer manages and supports all aspects of activities defined by contracted maintenance agreements or engineering projects. The Engineer will assist others to successfully meet project and service agreement objectives using operational and technical understanding of electrical power, power controls, and electrical systems. WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
* Use operational and technical understanding of electrical power, power controls, automation controls, and SCADA systems to support customers high availability, mission critical sites and systems.
* Understand construction prints, plans, and schematic drawings as well as sequence of operations documents and user manuals for equipment.
* Meet regularly with customers, schedules, and coordinates Preventive Maintenance (PM), and remedial repair events on covered equipment when required. Set up customer PM schedules.
* Perform start up, commissioning, & troubleshooting of electrical distribution, electrical metering, and control systems as required.
* Set up protective relaying, and generator control systems to achieve desired Generator parallel operations or Utility/generator parallel operations.
* On automation systems write & program PLC and automation control logic, HMI graphics and pages as required to accomplish the desired system operations. Create specific sequence of operations, factory & field test scripts.
* Perform electrical systems testing on customer electrical systems using Thermal Imaging, power systems analyzer, relay test sets, metering, and other related electrical test equipment.
* Work in a safe manner. Follow all DVL safety policies, OSHA standard safety practices, and customer site safety requirements. Holds Tool Box job safety briefings on DVL projects as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
* At least two-years technical degree or training from the military, or similar professional certification/college. (Licensed Electrician, NETA certification). BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or an Engineering related degree preferred.
* Over four years electrical power/commercial industrial power related field experience
* Knowledge of Electrical generation, distribution & control systems as well as the control devices commonly utilized with them.
* Knowledge of electrical control systems including metering, relays, PLC, SCADA, and Automated Logic WebCntl automation systems preferred.
* AutoCAD experience (or similar) for preparation of electrical single lines, schematics, elevations, floor plans, various control systems, mechanical piping systems, etc.
* Technical experience and training in electrical power systems maintenance and testing preferred.
* Experience in the operation of Infrared thermography equipment, primary & secondary injection test sets, power analyzers, and other relevant power system test instruments.
* Available to perform scheduled on-call & emergency call out duties (Nights, weekends, and holidays)
* Experience with the National Electric Code (NFPA70), NFPA 70E & OSHA electrical safety regulations.
* Proficient in Microsoft office
* Valid drivers license

The pay range is $80,000-$96,000 plus car allowance and bonus based on relevant experience
