SUMMARY: Operates heavy mobile equipment to load materials in trucks from various bunkers and buildings; move material from one area to another; and feeds the system of unprocessed material.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:
Operates front-end loaders to load unprocessed materials into the system as directed by the control room operator.
Operates front-end loaders to load processed ferrous and non-ferrous metals into trucks as directed by the supervisor or lead person.
Receives deliveries from trucks of non-processed material. Maintains the yard by pushing up metal piles using the front-end loader without pushing them over the retention walls.
Operates front-end loaders to load trucks of fluff and other non-metals removed from the air classifier material into trucks as directed by the supervisor or lead person.
Performs safety Inspection and operational preventive maintenance daily, including pressure cleaning, on the equipment assigned to this position; completes PM sheets and work orders as required.
Reports unsafe conditions, accidents or equipment malfunctions to operations lead person or supervisor.
Other duties may be assigned as directed by the supervisor or lead person.
High School graduate or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training in similar situation. Experienced in operating heavy equipment such as front-end loader, roll-off truck and forklift with some mechanical competency. Internal candidates must have completed qualification standards for prior position in company's line of progression.
