The ABI program is looking for staff that is flexible, enthusiastic, friendly and well organized to provide direct care to persons with Acquired Brain Injury, and/or physical disabilities. Staff must be comfortable with the implementation of service plans and other rehabilitation programs and be willing to facilitate and promote community integration. Staff must also ensure individuals’ medical health issues are addressed. This may include scheduling doctor’s appointments, providing transportation to appointment, following through on doctor’s orders and communicating all pertinent health issues to supervisor. Staff is also required to monitor, observes and prompts individual’s self-medication administration, implement behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs and other team recommended programs and procedures. One year of experience working with persons with ABI under a neuropsychologist or two years’ experience working with persons with ABI under a neuropsychologist required. ILST approval preferred. Ability to lift over 20 pounds.Behavioral experience required. Must have own insured vehicle for this program to transport the individual throughout the community for social activities, appointments, grocery shopping, job hunting, and volunteer opportunities. Must be self-motivated, kind, and caring and assist with ADL's, meal prep, money management, and goal attainment.
