Utilizing various software platforms, the programmer analyst will implement data and information tools to develop programs and dashboards to support the daily operation in the manufacturing environment.
* Program and develop tools utilizing Ignition software. * Review and analyse multiple data sources to present information to management team. * Work with various programs to support information needs of the plant. * Learn, understand, and support various applications used in the plant. * Ensure systems reliability through redundancy, backups and security. * Help train and support users on new applications, changes, upgrades and/or recommend external training resources and co-ordinate effective training schedules. * Provide on-call availability in case of a work-related emergency that requires your immediate attention. * Handle the day-to-day analysis, design, implementation, testing and integration of internal applications. * Work closely with all internal groups, advising of the best approach for application development, enhancements, upgrades and integration. * Manage projects to ensure that development target dates are being met, and that the internal customer is being informed of the status. * Set development standards with respect to languages, application design, programming tools, procedures and documentation while collaborating with Cosma. * Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the ERP software system (CMS). * Focus on continuous development and improvement for all plant applications and databases. * Coordinate with Cosma/Magna IT groups as required. * Complies with, supports and models CBAM's operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna's Employee's Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles. * Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001). * Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed. * Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Conducts themselves in a professional manner. * Keeps work area clean and organized. * Other duties as required.
Knowledge and Education
* University degree/College Diploma in Computer Science, or working toward such degree. * SQL and DB2 knowledge is an asset. * Python/Jython knowledge is an asset. * Experience working in both an office and automotive manufacturing environment is desired.

Under the general direction of the Assistant IT Manager, the Programmer Analyst works independently and confers regularly with division, corporate, contractors, customer, and supplier staff specialists. The Programmer Analyst must carry a cell phone/smart phone at all times to provide support in case of a work related emergency that could require either remote connectivity or returning to the plant.
A valid Driver's License is required for day travel with the occasional overnight stay. A valid passport which allows the Programmer Analyst to travel to attend meetings/seminars, etc. is necessary. Some travel and overtime may be required to meet customer expectations. The incumbent requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and some of the information in-process can be considered confidential. Programmer Analyst works in an office environment but maybe exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant.
