CNC Machinist I

Ascentec Engineering Tualatin, OR (Onsite) Full-Time
Derived Salary: $66K/Year
Qualified candidates must possess skills necessary to successfully function in a quick turn, high speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts.

Openings on all shifts: Mon-Fri Weekdays 8 Hour Shifts, Mon-Thurs Swing 10 Hour Shifts, and Weekends Day/Graveyard 12 Hour shifts Fri-Sun. Shift differentials apply to off-shifts.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities: Included, but not limited to:
  • Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
  • Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
  • Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.
  • Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
  • Must have CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
  • Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
  • Machining and holding tolerances of +/- .001".
  • 5s, keeping area clean and organized.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple task simultaneous
  • Experienced minimum in the set-up and run of 3axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
  • Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions
