We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Alexandria, VA location on a project for the U.S. Department of Defense.  Must hold a current/active Secret (SSBI) or Top Secret clearance to be considered.
 


JOB DESCRIPTION
Will lead a team of individual performers to provide support and maintenance to a production system, evaluate and quickly resolve production issues, create and maintain a team schedule for production deployments, provide input into the overall program schedule, perform risk analysis, and support the implementation of the account processes.   Extensive technical trouble shooting skills, communication skills and relationship management skills are required.  The ability to manage a diverse team of individuals, handle multiple tasks, set priorities, manage time, and work as part of a virtual team are integral parts of the task environment.
 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages customer project delivery. Manages business development, identifying and developing new opportunities with the client and relationship(s). 
  • Manages project team - internal as well as external resources with a team size greater than 40 people. 
  • Must have a technical background in applications development
  • Leads system monitoring, deployment, project planning, scheduling, and reporting activities for the production support team ensuring the smooth operation of a live system with over 75,000 global users. 
  • Establish milestones, anticipates issues, and monitors adherence to project scope, requirements and design documents, schedules, and to the software development process.
  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget, and that all deliverables are of the highest quality.
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project, including sub-contractor monitoring. 
  • Participates in Risk Management Framework (RMF), cyber hardening and other security discussions/interviews and is part of remediation efforts. 
  • Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan.
  • Undertakes status review meetings among project team members and clients.
  •  Works with management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules

Job Requirements





REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Has an extensive understanding of critical project management techniques in an application development environment
  • Recognized as a leader in the company services Program Manager (PM) Professions community
  • 5 years leading a team of individual performers
  • 5 years experience of comprehensive experience with the complexities and interrelated application components (SW/Middleware/Hardware & Network)
  • 5 years experience with relational databases
  • 3 years working on a production support team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to assist with daily task/project coordination for production oriented team
  • Ability to assist with developing procedural and technical documentation
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans (system migrations and software release upgrade)
 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 5 years experience in project management or in like roles/businesses
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
  • Security or CISSP certification
