Scientist - II (Associate)
West Point, PA 

  • Culture of mammalian cell lines in tissue culture flasks, dishes and 96 and 384 multi-well plates
  • Preparation of all reagent solutions, including buffers, growth media and test compound solutions at precise concentrations
  • Acquisition and analysis of data, documentation of experiments in laboratory notebooks and effective presentation and communication of experimental results to colleagues.
  • The successful candidate will join a group that develops and executes in vitro assays in support of drug and vaccine development programs targeting viruses.
  • The required skill sets include cell culture techniques, experience performing ELISAs, and experience working with one or more of the following viruses (HIV, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, herpesviruses).
Work Experience Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability in all aspects of mammalian cell culture: good sterile technique, proper preparation of reagents
• At least one year of laboratory experience running in vitro experiments in biochemistry, cell biology or related fields
• Experience with multimodal plate readers is preferred, but not required

Education Requirements:
• B.Sc. or B.A. in Biology, Biochemistry or related field
