Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Controls Tech III in Houma, Louisiana.


Performs diversified tasks to build and install electrical components and or electrical assemblies for new and refurbished equipment. Knowledge on how to wire and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.


  • Have knowledge of low voltage and high voltage best work practices.
  • Have personal tools for everyday activities.
  • Work includes but is not limited to running control cables / wires, wiring control panels / boxes, building monitoring devices, and installing lighting systems.
  • Read complex drawings and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot any electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems effectively.
  • Test equipment during Factory acceptance test (FAT) and perform any necessary adjustments.


  • Domestic and International travel to perform installations of systems.
  • Perform disassembly of equipment if required.
  • Assist other personnel as needed on jobs.
  • Work closely with production to minimize downtime.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean and in working order.
  • Complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.


  • Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience in mechanical and electrical machinery manufacturing.
  • A broad understanding of electrical and electronic and technology and methodology.
  • Ability to read complex drawings and schematics.
  • Good verbal communication and reading skills.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Requires appropriate licenses and certifications to comply with regulations and codes.
  • Ability to operate required equipment, tools and machinery such as maintenance tooling and rigging devices, numerous instruments and hand tools.


  • Walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, pushing/pulling, climbing, unnatural body positioning, carrying, crawling, and working within a confined space.
  • Lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
  • Subject to heat and cold.
