Training Specialist

The Learning & Development department collaborates with CareerBuilder Employment Screening leaders to increase employee knowledge and to execute the appropriate programs to enhance identified gaps in performance.

The Training Specialist coordinates, designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs for CareerBuilder Employment Screening associates to support company goals. The Training Specialist also ensures newly hired associates are familiarized with company procedures, day-to-day job duties, background screening compliance, and proper protocol.

  • Designs detailed, intuitive, and dynamic training programs to be used by CBES employees
  • Facilitates training programs for new hires and existing employees in classroom, video, and web based delivery medium
  • Partners with leadership to proactively identify areas of opportunity for additional training
  • Performs needs assessments when necessary
  • Leads a portion of New Hire Orientation
  • Designs and organizes training resources, multimedia visual aids, and self-directed training materials
  • Monitors trainee progress, audit work, and assesses trainee performance; provides feedback and evaluation to appropriate department managers
  • Schedules regular department meetings to stay up to date on new information/procedures
  • Leads quarterly training review meetings
  • Amends training tools to stay current with training trends and company needs
  • Works with cross-functional teams on error analysis and process improvements
  • Plans and executes projects to improve the workflow and fulfillment of training programs
  • Coordinates administrative functions as necessary to maintain accurate employee training records


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Corporate Trainer or in education, tutoring or adult education required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education, Business or related field preferred
  • Proven knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
  • Prior experience training in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Technical Writing experience preferred
  • Instructional Design experience preferred
  • Project Management experience
  • Agile and able to assist other L&D team members on departmental training projects and initiatives as needed
  • Proven leadership ability
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally
  • Proven presentation, speaking and composition skills
  • A high level of discretion and professionalism
  • Exceptional accountability and follow-up skills
  • Confident and willing to identify areas of opportunity to departmental leaders to drive innovation and process improvement
