Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Belmont Behavioral Hospital currently has an opening for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) oversees the clinical nursing staff and processes for our behavioral health units including child and adolescent services, dual-diagnosis, mood disorder, and general adult psych units.  The CNO has oversight of nursing services in the Philadelphia Children’s Crisis Response Center and all outpatient levels of care. The CNO is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing the strategic plan for areas of responsibility, consistent with the organization’s strategic plan.  The CNO works collaboratively with leadership and other departments and is responsible for the delivery of evidence based care to patients.

The CNO is responsible for ensuring staffing is adequate in all areas of responsibility in order to provide quality care that is also cost effective. The CNO will partner with Human Resources in developing effective recruitment and retention strategies.  The CNO must lead and engage employees to provide optimal patient care in ways that are consistent with Belmont’s Standards of Behavior, and support the achievement of the organization’s goals.  The CNO ensures policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and implemented effectively throughout all areas of responsibility.  The CNO ensure regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Masters in Nursing required.
  • Five (5) years clinical experience in behavioral health inpatient setting required.
  • Five (5) years management/administrative/leadership in a nursing role required.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience related to Joint Commission hospital and behavioral health standards and processes for continuous readiness for Joint Commission survey.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated budget and management skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheet) required.
  • Certificate in area of specialty required.

  • Current license as a Professional Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.
