The Role
As a Digital Communications Specialist, you'll play a vital role in fostering connections in our community by managing and responding to comments across social media platforms. Acting as a brand ambassador for our university partners, you'll ensure every interaction reflects their unique voice while safeguarding their reputation-and ours. By optimizing processes and leveraging technology, you'll help create a scalable, efficient, and impactful approach to our engagement.
Who You AreYou're a social media enthusiast who loves fostering positive interactions and understands that feedback and comments are a gift. You know how to engage an audience and respond thoughtfully. You combine exceptional communication skills (especially written) with the ability to manage the fast-moving world of social media.
- You have 2+ years of experience in social media moderation, copywriting and content engagement , etc.
- You are proficient with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and social media tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer).
- You have strong communication skills and can manage high-volume interactions while keeping written responses professional and on-brand.
- You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks.
- You are analytical and process-oriented and can leverage technology to build for scale and drive efficiency.
- Bonus points if you have any of the below:
- Experience with paid social media campaigns, social listening tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Brandwatch) or analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics or native platform insights).
- Familiarity with SEO principles and content marketing strategies for social media.
What You'll Do
Social Media Moderation & Community Management
- Monitor and moderate social media interactions, responding quickly and professionally.
- Engage followers and maintain a response database to ensure brand consistency.
Crisis Management
- Proactively monitor discussions and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Manage crises, escalating when needed to protect the brand
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Build, manage and maintain feedback loops across Ziplines.
- Implement technology solutions and process improvements to continuously refine and document best practices.
- Develop scalable systems for consistent moderation and engagement.
Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, university partnerships, and admissions teams to align engagement efforts with broader social and marketing strategies.
- Ensure all interactions drive audience growth, maintain brand reputation, and enhance partner satisfaction.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze engagement metrics, including response times and sentiment.
- Provide actionable insights and regular reports to improve performance.
Industry & Trend Monitoring
- Stay up-to-date with platform changes and trends, applying insights to keep strategies relevant.
- Understand and implement new technologies, especially with AI, to drive improvements in the process.

Salary range:
- $55,000 - $70,000 USD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
