Vice President, HiRel R&D

You are a proven R&D and execution leader with 15+ years of experience in upper and senior management roles, leading teams of 50+ or greater. You are recognized as a clear and inspirational communicator who can engage an audience, while inspiring people to support a common culture and follow a vision. In this role, you will report directly to the Sr. VP of HiRel and be responsible for all R&D (from technology development through full product release to manufacturing) to include leading all R&D resources. As a key member of the HiRel Leadership team, you will set the bar high, while identifying trends and continual improvement opportunities.
The preference is for this position to be based near our Andover, MA offices; However, we are open to this position being remote
In your new role you will:
* Report directly to the Sr. Vice President of IR HiRel.
* Be responsible for all R&D (from technology development through full product release to manufacturing) for a core business in the Americas
* Lead all R&D resources including: Process Development, Product Architecture, Analog Design, Digital Design, Layout, Product Integration, Product Engineering, Test Engineering and Program Management
* Work in partnership with the VP SMD and BL Head to set product roadmap and product release targets for HiRel BL
* Proactively define technology (process, test, and package) roadmaps, while working closely with SMD organization to support anticipated product needs. Continually refine these technology roadmaps based on product priorities, value propositions, and leadership inputs
* Execute R&D projects on time, on budget, and with a focus on continuous improvement of the engineering processes
* Represent IR HiRel during higher level technology and R&D reviews making sure BL needs are properly communicated and prioritized by the central teams
* Key member of the HiRel Leadership team; expected to contribute heavily to HiRel Blue book process and HiRel long term strategy development including M&A activities
* Mentor, develop, and performance manage the entire R&D org, while setting a high bar for the organization
* Cleary demonstrate project Spirit behaviors (prior to Spirit) within their own org but also push the rest of HLT to be ambitious, decisive, and accountable
* Manage R&D teams at multiple sites across the US
* Ability to travel at least 20% of the time (includes some internationally)
You have strong leadership and communication skills, while serving as a key point-of-contact within a large, global organization. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy proving out new ideas.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
* A college degree in electrical engineering, or similar (advanced degree preferred)
* Managed large scale R&D organizations greater than 50 people
* The ability to successfully scale and grow an R&D organization including guiding and managing large scale initiatives in areas of new products, new organizations, and new technologies
* Are a structured leader who defines/uses optimized processes and measurement systems to track performance and improve efficiency and effectiveness of an organization
* strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use it to identify trends and improvement opportunities
* Are highly strategic and able to advance ambitious plans through tactical execution while also managing and adapting to the associated risks and roadblocks that arise
* The ability to evaluate and develop an organization through through organizational design, targeted hiring, developing talent, and managing low performers in order to extract the most value from the business
* Proven skills including enjoy building relationships with colleagues and customers
