Salary: $52,000 to $74,000

Esquire by Cooper's Hawk, a new culinary destination, brings unique and distinctive food and wine experiences to Chicago's Gold Coast. The unique Chef-In-Residence restaurant features a cast of notable television and award-winning chefs (many new to the Chicago dining scene) from across the country, each of whom will present a quarterly menu that explores the long and celebrated relationship between food and wine. In addition, the restaurant features re-imagined versions of Cooper's Hawk iconic menu along with pairing and happy-hour tastings from the our highly coveted 3,000+ bottle wine collection, curated by Emily Wines, Cooper's Hawk's Master Sommelier. The Esquire wine collection was selected by Wine Spectator for a "Best of Award of Excellence" in 2020 and 2021.

Our Restaurant Managers help facilitate one of our key values, "We Are Different." Not only do they manage our full-service dining room and bar, but they also oversee our Napa-style Tasting Room and retail operations. Our Restaurant Managers ensure we are delivering gracious hospitality in all areas of Cooper's Hawk, while delivering the highest quality food from our scratch kitchen. Our Restaurant Managers lead, coach and inspire their team members to do just the same.

Requirements:

* Must represent Cooper's Hawk Visions and Values
* Loves people and guest service!
* Has a passion for food and wine and dedication to quality
* Management experience in a high volume restaurant environment, preferred
* Oversees daily operations and ensures outstanding services within our dining room, bar, Tasting Room and host stand areas
* Leads the restaurant team to execute Cooper's Hawk policies and procedures
* Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, coaches and inspires all front of house team members for location
* Orchestrates and schedules restaurant team members as needed throughout all shifts
* Coaches a team-based service approach throughout the restaurant
* Organizes and maintains timely paperwork for all hired employees and applicants in accordance to employment laws
* Trains front of house team members to increase knowledge about safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
* Leads pre-shift meetings to communicate daily Chef Recommendations, policy updates, and general information to inspire the restaurant team
* Educates our team on our Wine Club and coaches and inspires them to in turn, educate our Guests
* Conducts inventory per company policy
* Controls food, beverage and labor costs
* Ability to work opening, mid, and closing shifts at the restaurant
* Has strong leadership skills and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, high volume environment
* Has excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Has outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
* Adheres to Cooper's Hawk policies regarding Covid safety protocols
* Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
* Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
* Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length
* Ability to communicate and understand the primary language of the work location
* Ability to work calm and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; basic reading, listening and speaking skills
* Ability to perform essential functions to Cooper's Hawk standards with reasonable accommodation
