Overview

The Department of Buildings & General Services (BGS) is seeking a full-time Digital Printing Technician. This position will be cross-trained and will regularly rotate through duties within a print/finish environment.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operation and maintenance of all equipment including printers, inserters, folders, cutters, booklet makers, and sealers.
• Use knowledge of materials, processes, quality control, and other techniques to manufacture print products.
• Take and report inventory, and track job progress and billing using print shop database.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment errors, perform scheduled maintenance, and coordinate with vendors for equipment service.

The schedule is 7:45am to 4:30pm, with a scheduled 45-minute lunch.

Work is performed in an area with high noise levels and under the pressure of deadlines and shifting priorities. Lifting of heavy boxes of paper and other work-related objects is necessary. Manual dexterity is needed to operate equipment. The inevitable exposure to inks and other print materials may cause soiling of clothing.

High School diploma or equivalent.
