Kelly Services has a customer in Sharonville who is looking to add a QC Assistant to their food manufacturing workforce. This is a growing company with excellent potential for future advancement!! We are looking for a Quality Control Assistant/Technician with food manufacturing experience, effective communication skills and attention to detail. This position is temp to hire, although they are open to direct hire for the right candidate. Food manufacturing experience is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED, candidates without this exact type of experience will not be considered for this position. Current schedule is 7a-5p M-F and mandatory Saturdays 7a-5p - if you can't do or don't want overtime this position is not for you. Expect to work on average 60 hours a week for the foreseeable future. Summary/Objective Quality Control Assistant will report directly the Quality Control Manager. Responsible for controlling quality operations and production throughout the manufacturing facility. Successful candidate will be involved with assurance of compliance with applicable regularly requirements. Assist with/conduct audits and reviews; analyze data and documentation. Responsible for communication with all departments on issues concerning food safety and product quality. Maintain proper documentation and reports. Essential duties and responsibilities to perform the job successfully: - Monitor and program critical control points (CCP) - Monitor product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process - Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas as required - Ensure employees are following all Food Safety and Worker Safety practices - Ensure and educate employees on food safety and BRC standards - Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory when directed - Perform inspections on products, equipment and machinery - Draft quality assurance policies and procedures - Able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards - Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards - Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities - Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues - Analyze data to identify areas of improvement in the quality system - Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions - Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards - Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements - Follow company GMPs (good manufacturing practices) and all other quality programs - Committed to ensuring that products produced meet all food safety and quality requirements - Notify Supervisor of process deviation and when production is (or will be) outside of control parameters Competencies - Prior experience in food manufacturing environment required - Self-motivated with proven leadership skills - Attention to detail - Proficient in Microsoft office - Data collection, management and analysis - Able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Bilingual- English/Spanish beneficial - Able to work in team environment - Ability to work in fast-paced environment effectively under pressure and a deadline oriented environment - Successful candidate must be capable of planning and organization, using sound judgement to make critical decisions - Able to work independently with little or no supervision and as a member of the team - Good organizational and communication skills Work Environment Work may be performed in office, production and laboratory environments Travel Travel is not anticipated, but may be requested occasionally to attend educational opportunities, seminars and/or business and industry related events Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements; acidified foods, FSMA, food science Knowledge of food safety guidelines, HACCP plan, biological and bacterial hazards and sanitation procedures
