JOB DESCRIPTION: Hybrid position: Art Handling Specialist and Wine Handling


Art Handling Specialists are responsible for ensuring the safe handling of artworks for packing/crating/storage, in the warehouse.

The Art Handling Specialist will be working with the Wine Warehouse coordinator who is

responsible for liaising and contributing to the relationship with an International Auction House, and a dedicated focus of Wine & Spirits Operations. The Art Handler will be responsible for the client's stored inventory, movements, tracking, and safety of the inventory and assisting the coordinator as needed.


Handle and move artworks, including wrapping, packing and crating using appropriate techniques and materials

Install/de-install artworks during onsite projects using proper techniques and tools

Handle and move dec-arts and furniture, including wrapping, packing and crating using appropriate techniques and materials

Load/unload trucks to ensure safe transit

Conduct inspection reports for various types of art objects

Responsible for the packing of wine for shipping. Ensuring adherence to documented standards and best practices.

Ensure wine inventory is updated to accurately reflect any discrepancies between physical stock and inventory systems following any requested bottle checks especially in relation to quantity, vintage, packing or description.


2+ years of Art Handling experience

Knowledge and interest in fine art, decorative art and/or design

Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard packing, crating, and installation techniques and materials

Ability to speak effectively to clients and coworkers

Strong attention to detail, discretion, and follow-through

Must be a team player, with the ability to lead and effectively communicate instructions

Must be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure

Valid driver's license

Clean personal and previous employment record

Able to travel to regional locations for onsite work

Must be willing to work flexible hours based on the needs of the project


Physical Requirements: lifting, moving, heavy objects, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift a min. of 50lbs on their own.

Utilization of Time and Equipment:

20% Laptop / desktop computer, telephone

80% Lifting, moving, pushing and pulling equipment, cases, containers, or boxes in excess of: 10 - 20 lbs
