Senior Operations Engineer
Gotransverse is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer for our fast-growing SaaS Billing and Revenue Management solution. This is a key role responsible for ensuring service reliability and engineering excellence within Gotransverse’s Operations team. With a focus on designing, managing, and maintaining high-reliability services, our engineers handle software, network, data, and systems engineering. Aligned with DevOps principles, we empower our engineers—whether systems or feature-focused—to build scalable and efficient solutions. We’re looking to add a new engineer with expertise in Linux, AWS, databases, and data management, who will eventually join our on-call rotation, ensuring seamless service delivery and reliability alongside the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide application support for the Gotransverse billing & revenue management solution.
- Assist in provisioning and configuring customer solutions.
- Implement internal networks, firewall rules, application servers, and data processing servers.
- Define and execute production change management and incident response procedures.
- Respond to and resolve production system network, hardware, and software issues.
- Ensure secure configuration of all systems and document security policies for PCI and SOC compliance.
- Support production system networks, servers, software, and all GTV services.
Requirements snapshot (what you bring):
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in Enterprise IT with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with broader technical teams.
- Self-motivated with exceptional organizational abilities.
- 5-7 years of experience with development or infrastructure as code tools, including Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Python.
- 5+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, optimizing, and supporting Kubernetes.
- 5+ years of experience working in AWS public cloud environments; AWS certifications are a plus.
- Deep understanding of Cloud Native technologies across the Infrastructure, Provisioning, Runtime, Orchestration, and Application development layers.
- Expert knowledge of configuration and best practices for services such as DNS, load balancing, and networking.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud-native resources and deployment, ensuring scalability, resiliency, performance, and reliability.
- Strong experience with pipeline technologies like Jenkins.
- 7+ years of experience in installing, configuring, and performing routine troubleshooting and performance evaluations in Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of RDBMS such as MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Proficient in Unix shell scripting and programming, including Python.
- Strong working knowledge of DNS, NFS/NIS+, HTTP, SSL, and mail protocols.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, and security.
- Knowledge of load balancing or high availability architectures is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of Java web applications and technologies on Linux/Unix is highly valued.
- Understanding of REST and SOA web services.
- Extensive experience and background with PCI compliance activities.
- Experience with Enterprise Linux distributions.
- Experience with SCAP Security is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills for debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues.
- Fluency in Java, Python, and Groovy, along with familiarity with other scripting languages.
- Ability to manage on-call duties and respond to out-of-band requests as needed.
- Extensive experience in high-volume or critical production environments.
