Job Description

The Accounting Representative processes various on-line financial transactions associated with the sale and usage of resident and non-resident meal plans to and by students, faculty and staff of the university. The incumbent must understand the various meal plan options available in order to process manual adjustments and respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding meal plans to promote their purchase and usage. Investigates and resolves questions, concerns and/or complaints regarding meal plans and acts as dining services’ departmental attaches to the RPS Assignments Office to assist in the dissemination of information regarding dining services and its meal plan options to students and parents during the process of signing housing and meal plan contracts.

Also serves as the RPS Reservationist for Guest Housing by responding to communications from guests, staff, and departmental representatives concerning reservations arriving by email and telephone. Creates and maintains reservation records, prepares letters of confirmation, and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications. Tracks future room availability on the basis of reservations, and helps develop forecasts for room revenue and occupancy. Additional duties may include preparing the list of expected arrivals for the Center Desks, assisting in preregistration activities when appropriate, and processing reservation payment schedules and tax forms In addition, processes cash, credit card and check transactions for guest housing and other revenue activities as well as other revenue processing for 801 administration, reconciles the cash drawer and prepares daily deposits..


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent and two years accounting/bookkeeping.

Functional knowledge of the university’s KFS software, knowledge of university billing procedures and work-related experience in the use of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.


Preferred Qualifications 

Two years of software support experience. Significant experience in the operation and maintenance of MICROS, HMS, MPE, CP, KFS, Nelson Guest Housing site, and PCS Odyssey software systems.
