Project Manager (Yorkshire)
- Managing project teams of internal and external resources delivering projects of various investment values.
- Identifying, establishing and improving relations with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding Seymour core values and demonstrating them daily.
- Present projects to stakeholders at specific project stages to ensure governance and financial approvals as required.
- Has the ability to lead, motivate and develop strong and successful teams.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding.
- Understanding CDM regulations.
- Prepare and submit project/programme reports as required. Reports to include but not limited to current progress status, costs, milestones, resource demands etc.
- Helping to drive and maintain a project culture that meets the objectives of Managed Delivery and in particular matters including Health and Safety.
- Managing contracts effectively and have a good understanding of various types of contracts.
- Having an understanding surveying and setting out/engineering techniques using the latest technologies.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- A strong track record of successfully delivering a range of civil engineering projects, with a strong commercial acumen and being contractually astute.
- Driven to succeed and self-motivated, with the ability to drive multiple projects forward.
- A confident communicator and negotiator, with the ability to build lasting, successful relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and other personnel.
- Credible and comfortable dealing with a range of people, from senior client contacts to members of their own site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, with ability to prioritise and delegate, where appropriate.
- An analytical approach to challenges and a positive approach to problem solving.
- Able to keep cool under pressure and when working to demanding deadlines.
- A valid UK Driver’s License and the flexibility to travel, along with the ability to work within an ‘Agile’ environment.
- It is anticipated that candidates will have a degree or equivalent in a Civil, Construction or Engineering discipline.
- Suitable candidates must have in-depth experience in Project Management, gained in a Construction or similar Engineering environment.
- Experience of waste water and clean water project delivery is desirable, as is a knowledge or qualification in Construction Site Health and Safety and/or CDM.
- The candidate will have experience in the application of project feasibility including lifecycle design and management, project success criteria, business case requirements, procurement, health, safety and environmental standards and other legislative requirements in order to fully develop project management plans.
- You will possess detailed and extensive knowledge and experience in managing projects and controlling the project scope, time scheduling and phasing, resource management, quality management and risk management.
- You will also be able to demonstrate effective project change control.
