Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Systems Administrator to join the Command and Launch Team (CLT). This position is in Huntsville, AL and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. What You'll Get To Do: Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
* Configures, operates, and maintains networking and computer systems within closed area
* Solid understanding of hardware infrastructure including servers, networking, and storage components (SAN and NAS)
* In depth knowledge of Red Hat software packaging, distribution, and configuration
* Implements and manages VMware vSphere 7.x infrastructure
* Provides DevOps and source code management in support of software development
* Responsible for STIG (security technical implementation guide) application, testing, and compliance
* Assists in design and creation of overall system in accordance with customer requirements
* Maintains operational security posture to ensure information systems (IS) security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed
* Ability to identify and summarize findings, assess root cause, and recommend solutions

- Employee Discounts This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Job Qualifications: You'll Bring These Qualifications:
* Minimum EDU/Experience: 6 Years w/Bachelors or 10 years System Administration work experience in lieu of degree; 4 year of experience with a Masters.
* US Citizenship with availability to obtain a SAP with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 5 years)
* DOD 8570 IAT Level II (Security + or higher) or must obtain within 90 days of reporting.
* Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
* Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe for Lean Enterprises"These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
* Extensive knowledge of VMware ESX, VSAN, and related technologies
* Ability to Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
* Working knowledge of Docker
* Responsible for the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as code (IAC) solutions including Ansible, Terraform, and SaltStack.
* Automated configuration, management, and coordination of Linux applications and services
* Working knowledge of container orchestration
* Executed best-practice infrastructure automation and high availability configuration management.
* Linux+/RHCT#GBSDSoftware Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
