Extruded Solutions is Hydro’s largest and most global business area. Our Business Area supplies aluminum profiles and profile-based solutions in various applications ranging from windows and furniture to cars and cruise ships. Within Extruded Solutions, we have business area staff functions based in Oslo, but we also have four core business units; Extrusion Europe, Extrusion North America, Building Systems and Precision Tubing.
 

Job Location: Rockledge, FL

Summary: Produce product by operating various types of machines in compliance with Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Programs and quality assurance systems to support the achievement of the sites goals and business objectives. Starting, stopping, adjusting line speed and inspecting for defects. Monitoring equipment, recording production and scrap.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties to set up and operate equipment within production goals and standard set up times.
  • Ensure specifications are met by changing, setting prescribed tooling to suit tubing size, set arc and pressure and making continued adjustments to meet material variations
  • Change and adjust blades as required.  
  • Use jib crane or overhead crane to position coil on pay off. 
  • Select and prepare packaging materials. Pre-make boxes and stock bins with filler, pre-cut paper, prep tote/pallet etc.
  • Check work at prescribed intervals and record data on check sheets.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus
  • Ability to handle basic math
  • Ability to read and interpret simple reference material such as printed instructions and blueprints in English.
  • Proficient use of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and fix gauges where interpretation is required.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Manoeuvre spools from floor rails, take ups and pay offs several times per day
  • Frequently standing for long periods of time, walking, use of hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands or arms, repetitive motion, close visual acuity, stoop, kneel or crouch. Employee frequently lifts or moves up to 25 lbs and occasional lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors, specifically red.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English
