Your mission

The role

Oversee the execution of the Comptec Quality Management System to identify and address weaknesses and risks. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for processes which require formal qualification and industry standard compliance. Work closely with all Comptec functions and our customers to insure that critical quality requirements and processes are adequately identified, budgeted, documented and communicated to Comptec personnel.

  • Monitor the Quality Management System through periodic internal audits, quality data review, corrective action progress, and ongoing observations.
  • Champion qualification efforts for new or revised processes which require formal qualification programs and industry standard compliance, such as welding and NDE, and ensure that qualifications for existing processes are being properly maintained and documented.
  • Coordinate resolution of complex quality problems as they arise to minimize the impacts on customers and costs. Facilitate root cause analysis efforts.
  • Maintain the ITP template and collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that accurate, complete and timely ITP’s are developed and issued in the course of project execution.
  • Assist QMS document authors as needed with improvements to current procedures or in the development of new procedures.
  • Interface with other Comptec functions as needed to ensure that critical quality requirements are adequately understood and documented internally, as well as collaborating with Supplier Quality Engineers for the pass-down of quality requirements to vendors and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with Applications Engineering on the review of quality related specifications and contractual requirements, assessing feasibility and resource/cost impact in order to address risks prior to order placement.
  • Represent Comptec QA in kickoff meetings, top level reviews, customer pre-inspection meetings, and other project-related activities.
  • Serve as back-up to the QA manager when necessary.
  • Comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements.
  • Other quality-related duties as business conditions require.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent organization skills, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • BS or advanced engineering degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Internal auditor training or related experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Lotus Notes, Smarteam (Direct view), and MS Office applications.
  • Flexible to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Knowledge of Comptec products and technology is a strong plus.
