Job Description

DiscoverX is searching for a Field Application Specialist (FAS) to join our team.

Eurofins DiscoverX is a leader in providing solutions and support to the pharmaceutical industry by developing, manufacturing, and commercializing reagents, cell-based assay kits, and profiling and screening services.

FAS responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Responsible for the technical execution of method transfers to client's lab

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) on technical/operational capabilities/capacity for cell-based assays

• In coordination with the Sales Team, uncovers new business opportunities to grow the Biologics cell-based assays business.

• Applies high level of technical expertise, mentors sales reps in the field, and provide technical guidance to clients, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Talk to biotech, biopharmaceutical and biosimilar companies to uncover needs and position appropriate DiscoverX format/solution

• Present DiscoverX technical product capabilities to audiences at conferences, onsite seminars, vendor shows and other customer-facing events.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be comfortable discussing difficult technical assays while maintaining a respectful and engaging interaction with clients.

• Supports the generation of products application data by facilitating the creation of scientific content to be used in multiple marketing tools.

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

• Regular attendance and punctuality

• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Owns the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness

• Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required

• Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines

• Adheres to site environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel

• Self-motivated, highly organized, accurate and detail oriented

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

• A good listener and a proactive team player

• Ability to analyze, prioritize and multitask assignments

• Ability to deliver under tight deadlines

• Understand market and customer needs of Biologics Drug Development and technically articulate value of DiscoverX offerings.

• Experience in analytical assay development for biologics discovery and development

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• PhD in science field required. Preferably biochemistry, bioanalytical sciences or cell biology.

• Must be able to travel >50% domestically in the US

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. This position is field based, but candidates living on the West Coast are preferred (ideally in the SF Bay area).
