The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Provider position is to provide clinical patient care across the continuum of the multidisciplinary team to achieve quality patient care as a member of the Integrative Medicine team.
Conducts comprehensive symptom assessments using physical exam skills and assessment tools. Participates in developing treatment plans with the team physicians. Participates in the collection and patient data with appropriate documentation in the medical record.
Uses organizational skills to assure continuity of care across the continuum in collaboration with other disciplines through planning, education and coordination of services.
Provides education and support to patients and families, emphasizing the promotion of comfort and quality of life. Provides education to clinicians.
Utilizes communication skills as a liaison for our department as well as between patients and other members of the healthcare team.
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), except for Physician Assistants who graduated from a PA program prior to 2013.
Prior experience as Physician Assistant.
**LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION**
All of the following: PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
MAY BE REQUIRED: Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
Must meet the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) , ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in one of following department: Pediatrics - Patient Care (113100).
