To insure that Hospice of Central Ohio has staff that is of the highest quality and possesses the talent, skills and knowledge to do their job effectively. The Staffing Specialist coordinates recruitment and selection activities for Ohio’s Hospice by selecting individuals according to Ohio’s Hospice recruitment standards.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Determines job requirements and pertinent information of the open position by reviewing the position’s job description and by discussion with Hiring Manager.
Attracts candidates by best determined source including job advertisements, newsgroups, social media and job sites.
Utilize the Internet for recruitment:
Post positions to appropriate Internet sources.
Improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting
Use social and professional networking sites to attract and identify candidates (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, ect)
Assess the suitability of candidates using the Job Description, Qualifications, Skills, References and the position PRO. Success of a proper match will better insure excellent patient care, customer service as well as increased employee retention as evident by attaining organization turnover goals.
Collaborates with Hiring Manager in determining best candidate and suitability for an open position. Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules, greeting candidates and arranging tours if applicable.
Ensures integrity of required licensure and background information of candidates prior to hire, having licensure verified by a valid source.
Develop and implement the Advertising and Recruiting Plan using data gathered from recruitment database in order to retain a pipeline of qualified candidates. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
Maintain all pertinent applicant interview data in the Human Resources Information Systems or Staffing Software.
Continuously researches, analyzes and prepares recruiting and hiring statistics in order to stay informed and make effective recruiting practice decisions.
Works in coordination with the other HR staff, to keep HR files updated and compliant with Ohio’s Hospice, federal and state regulations. Participates in HR initiatives to gather information needed from all staff; i.e. annual license verification, policy statements, mass communication initiatives, etc.
B.S. in Human Resources or related field
Background in Recruiting and Staffing function
Filing and Retrieval Skills. High level organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to confidentiality
Customer Service skills
HRIS System skills (ADP preferred)
