Medical Assistant MA - Bealeton Family Practice - PRN Weekdays

The Medical Assistant will provide general patient care in a physician office setting. The Medical Assistant will complete tasks as directed by physician and office manager to ensure seamless operation.

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Administers injections, vaccines and medications and other related tasks as instructed by physician.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent - Required
• Two years of college - Preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification - Required

Required Skills:

• Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - may be obtained week of orientation
• Medical Assistant must be credentialed by an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) within 6 months of hire.

Minimum Work Experience:

• Required - 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Demonstrated phlebotomy experience.
• Preferred - 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse. Six months of phlebotomy skills to include blood draws is preferred.
