Fund Management - Tax Assistant Staff
We are currently hiring a Tax Assistant Staff to join our team, supporting one of our largest private equity clients. The principal responsibility of this position is to support the fund tax team with compliance and tax notice management.
The individual will primarily work within the fund tax team to provide administrative support as noted in the responsibilities section below. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the tax notice process, including opening and scanning notices, distributing notices to different teams, maintaining the notice portal, and tracking responses.
- Assisting with the tax return filing process, including obtaining signatures, preparing payment support, coordinating mailings, and saving down returns to internal network.
- Supporting the legal entity management function by preparing basic IRS forms as needed (SS-4’s, 8832 Election Forms), tracking acquired and disposed assets, updating organizational charts, and completing requests that come through the Entity Lifecycle Manager (ELM).
- Gathering all external entity K-1s for timely delivery and maintaining an external entity K-1 tracker.
- Assisting with the tax refund tracking process, including saving down refund checks, providing support, updating the tracker, and contacting the respective tax authorities as needed.
- Organizing and maintaining thorough records for the team; uploading documents as needed to secure internal databases.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive and confidential issues; assisting with a wide variety of projects as reasonably assigned.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- A self-starter with the ability to prioritize and see the bigger picture.
- Strong research/data mining skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- High integrity and must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
- Advanced PC skills and excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Intermediate level Excel skills.
