About this role
Under direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, the Physician's Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) will assist the Physician in all medical care and treatment of the inmate population including but not limited to behavioral health disorders. The PA and NP will coordinate the patient plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the healthcare team and in compliance with all agency, local, state, federal laws and regulations.
What you bring to the table
Education for Nurse Practitioner:
* Completion of a master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs
Experience for Nurse Practitioner:
* Previous correctional/detention facility experience
* Minimum two (2) years' experience
Licenses/Certifications for Nurse Practitioner:
* Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
* Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
* Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
What you will do
* Rapidly respond and deliver care in compliance with company protocols and procedures.
* Evaluate patients for typical acute care and Emergency Medicine complaints and recommend treatment according to standard practice, standardized procedures, and protocols.
* Consult with physician about conditions that fall outside protocol parameters.
* Identify patients clinically indicated for emergency transfer offsite to an Emergency Department
* May assess psychiatric stability in conjunction with a physician collaborator to manage acute medical, traumatic, and psychiatric issues.
* Document all findings using the S.O.A.P. method in the telehealth platform and the electronic medical record (EMR).
* Ensure confidentiality of all protected health information per HIPAA guidelines.
* Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities.
* Attend periodic administrative meetings.
* Provide cross-coverage and clinical support for other services, as needed.

$50 - $61 / hour
