Job Description

Excellent opportunity for an EVP/Chief Lending Officer with a very successful, well-established financial institution based in Corvallis, OR.

The primary responsibility of the CLO is to ensure the long-term success of the Bank 's lending operations through effective management, innovation, and commitment to excellence and to the Bank 's cultural pillars. This role will provide oversite and support to the Commercial Loan Officers, the Mortgage Department, and the Loan Service Center. This individual is also a key member of our Executive Leadership Team and as such is a culture driver and leader.


  • Serve as principal advisor to CEO and board of directors on all issues associated with lending strategies, credit risk management, commercial, agriculture and real estate lending

  • Act as management liaison to board of directors Lending/CRA Committee

  • Strategically set guidelines and policy relating to the accurate and timely servicing of the institution 's loan portfolio, including the production of loan documentation; proper funding and closing processes and loan servicing

  • Lead efforts with executive management to develop and implement appropriate lending products and services

  • Manage portfolio growth through effective planning, development, and implementation of lending strategies

  • Review existing and new client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing

  • Ensure overall safety and soundness of loan portfolio, with the ability to identify and develop long term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives

  • Ensure the accuracy of the risk rating system and adequacy of allowance for loan losses

  • Develop and implement systems, risk controls and policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, institution policies and risk tolerances

  • Monitor and manage Bank 's portfolio and communicate performance and concerns to top management

  • As part of the Bank 's management team, participating in executive level discussions and in making recommendations regarding major policy decisions


  • Bachelor 's Degree, or equivalent experience, in business, finance, accounting, or related field

  • 10 years or more of supervisory level commercial, agricultural, and real estate lending experience
  • Demonstrated skill in policy development and administration
  • Demonstrated strength in credit, financial, and risk analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer and real estate lending policies, procedures, regulations, and systems
  • Extensive experience with budget over-site and portfolio management is required
