Job Description

Schneider has an immediate need for an enthusiastic and goal driven Sales Development Representative to proactively develop business opportunities for the New Business Development team through the pursuit of prospective clients, generation and qualification of cold leads.  The Sales Development Representative will support the Commercial Development team and will be accountable to qualify and target clients. Additionally, they will provide potential customers an in-depth introduction to Schneider’s portfolio of services and be responsible to transition the qualified client to the appropriate New Business Development Director. This position required an ability to access the client at the appropriate level. Some contact will include Directors and Vice Presidents of Transportation as well as Chief Financial Officers. This position broadens your industry knowledge which in turn drives your career to limitless opportunities and positions you for interesting challenges. 
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary resource for the researching and prospecting of qualified new business leads via Internet, media, directories, referrals and other resource material.
  • Responsible for identifying, contacting, and tracking prospective clients, generating leads and qualifying high-quality business opportunities for the Commercial Development team via outbound phone calls, emails, campaign letters and other resources.
  • Upon contacting a prospective client, probe to understand business needs and have the ability to identify opportunities to pair those needs with Schneider products/services. 
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive intelligence and market conditions relative to specific service offering(s) and communicate appropriately to departmental and organizational leaders.
  • Process and maintain leads in prospecting database for weekly reporting.
  • Work with Commercial Development, Marketing and other teams as appropriate to create process to aggressively follow-up and qualify all print and direct campaigns.

Job Requirements

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience in logistics, inside sales or customer service
  • In-depth knowledge of SNI portfolio and understanding of product features and benefits preferred
  • Enthusiastic and professional phone manner and positive attitude when dealing with potential clients
  • Solid organizational, problem analysis and follow-up skills
  • Strong Internet research & PC skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with excellent listening skills and ability to translate client needs into SNI offerings
  • High initiative, self-motivated and results-oriented team player
  • Ability to persuade/influence others and a passion for persistence
