In this managerial role, you'll use your knowledge and analytical skills to help determine how clinical providers group up by specialty and service line. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, translate and implement provider network strategies and operational objectives primarily focused on the Individual Exchange (ACA) market
  • Engage and direct cross-functionally with medical economics, actuarial, product, legal, local markets and other internal teams to effectively facilitate strategies to build new, high-performing hospital and physician networks and progressive provider partnerships
  • Formulate market-specific provider engagement and contracting strategies to drive provider participation in Individual Exchange and value-based care initiatives
  • Manage the end-to-end provider network development lifecycle including yearly readiness activities for network adequacy filing and provider data/operations
  • Develop and presents Individual Exchange (ACA) specific value proposition, talking points, pitch decks and/or data analysis to support local markets’ contracting strategy
  • Stay abreast of industry innovations, market trends, and competitive positions to assist with business decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA, MHA, or post-graduate degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of experience working with a managed care organization or health insurer; or as a consultant in a network/contract management role
  • 3+ years of project management or project lead experience
  • 3+ years of strategy development and execution of cross-functional enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Proficiency with facility and/or provider organization reimbursement methodologies
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% nationally
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with strong knowledge of health insurer business processes that impact provider data and contract management
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis
  • 2+ years of experience managing staff
  • Self-directed and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative and follow-through
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation, active listening) skills

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. As of the date of this posting, In addition to your salary,  UHG offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Health, dental, and vision plans; wellness program; flexible spending accounts; paid parking or public transportation costs; 401(k) retirement plan; employee stock purchase plan; life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance; business travel accident insurance; Employee Assistance Program; PTO; and employee-paid critical illness and accident insurance.
