Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Casual Part Time
Position Description:
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - GI Anesthesiology Division
The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its Adult Anesthesiology Division. The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, working directly under the supervision of our Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists.
Specifications:
- Preferred Experience: Previous CRNA experience in Anesthesiology
- Minimum Education: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
- Candidates can be either a Certified Registered Nurse Anethetist or board eligible for certification as a CRNA
- Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience: adult healthcare; previous CRNA experience
- Wisconsin APNP license
- AHA BCLS and/or ACLS required
Responsibilities:
- Administer general and local anesthesia
- Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration
- Prepare patients to be effectively monitored
- Monitor patients under anesthesia
- Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans
- Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure that they are recovering well
- Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care.
- Provide direct patient care before, during and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality.
- Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
- Review the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviews
- Administer/order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Work with Anesthesiologists to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure
- Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
- Perform varies administrative duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients/families pre or post procedures
