Executive Assistant to the President
The executive assistant to the president functions as an administrative assistant and a project manager for the priorities of the Office of the President in a caring, fast-paced environment working with multiple projects and assignments designed to maximize progress toward strategic outcomes. The role includes leadership of the Social Committee and the Employee Mentoring program.
Responsibilities
- Assists the president in carrying out their duties; aids the president with problem solving and issues resolutions.
- Handles a variety of projects, including follow-up on action items, strategic priorities, and planning for the President’s Council, General Assembly, Strategic Planning, and Board of Trustee meetings.
- Manages office functions, with the help of student worker(s), including scheduling, managing the president’s calendar, phone calls, mail, travel arrangements, expense reports, filing, copying, ordering flowers, and sending announcements requesting prayers.
- Functions as recording secretary for President’s Council, Strategic Planning, and Board of Trustee meetings.
- Assists in budget preparation and management for the Office of the President.
- As chief hospitality officer, chairs the Social Committee; leads on major college events such as Colloquium, Employee Christmas Party, Year-End Social, and President’s Award luncheons; organizes small events of the president as needed, including events on campus and at the president’s home.

Required Experience
- Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Experience preferred.
- Must have advanced skills in office management tools and software programs, including Word, Excel, Google documents, and team sites.
- Must have proven skills and experience in friendly service; ability to work with all people; and good interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work after normal business hours when necessary (board meeting weekends, social events on weekends, evenings, etc.).
- Caring, helpful, respectful, and a good listener with students, parents, visitors, board members, and employees.
- Flexible and open to change.
- Patient and resilient in overcoming obstacles.
- Natural ability for managing details and thorough follow-up.
- Competent in handling numerous and varied duties and assignments.
- Comfortable using technology.
- Able to write and spell well.
- Works well as a leader and with a group.
- Displays mature judgement and discernment.
- Respects the confidentiality of information.
