The Paramedic Transfer Center Communication Specialist, under the direction of the Transfer Center Clinical Nurse Manager will assist with centralizing and streamlining the process of receiving both internal and external transfers and direct admits utilizing the Electronic Bed Management System and Electronic Transfer System. All Transfer Center communications and functions will follow EMTALA guidelines and ensure that the transfer process ensures a safe and seamless acceptance of patients into the WellStar Health System.
Required Minimum Education
High school graduate or equivalent
Completion of Paramedic Course
Requied Minimum Experience
Minimum of two years clinical experience
Preferred Minimum Experience
Hospital Transfer Center, Call Center or Emergency Department experience desired
Epic Transfer Module experience desired
Required Minimum Certification
Current Paramedic Certification in the state of GA
BLS Certification required
PALS and ACLS after 6 months in job
Required Minimum SKills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to prioritize based on clinical description
Excellent computer skills
Excellent phone skills
Knowledge of emergency medical treatment and active labor act (EMTALA)
Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve in difficult situations
