Job Description
BAL Furnace Tech
Are you looking for steady hours and weekly paychecks? Manpower is currently hiring for 2nd shift BAL (Bright Anneal Line) Technicians on 2nd shift!
What's in it for you?

-Afternoon shift: 3:30pm to 3:30 am (Working 3 to 4 days per week)

What is the job?
-Operates assigned equipment in safest possible way, conforming to established health and safety procedures.
-Works to the highest quality standards possible. Inspects work according to all procedures on B.A.L. furnace and uses quality sheets accordingly.
-Operates Bright Anneal Line, Breaker and auxiliary equipment, material handling equipment, and packaging equipment.
-Monitors waste-water treatment for proper chemical flows.
-Mixes filter solutions to ensure proper water treatment.
-Operates filter press for processing water quality to meet E.P.A. standards.
-Cuts, identifies, and packages test samples for Special Metals and toll customers.
-Makes minor repairs to equipment and assists Maintenance as necessary. Performs preventive maintenance.
-Using lift trucks and other equipment, loads and unloads trucks, moves material to production stations, and shipping staging area, when necessary.
-Processes shipping/receiving paperwork accurately.
-Assists at Coil Prep, Rolling Mill, H.V. Slitter, and packaging area, as needed, including making tooling set-ups on Heads and Separators on H.V. Slitter.
-Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
-The ability to use the computer production system (MRP).
-Ability to operate an overhead crane to move material.
-Performs any additional tasks as assigned by supervision.
What you bring to the job?
-High school diploma or GED.
-The ability to read a micrometer, tape measure, and caliper.
-Good shop math and measuring skills.
-Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
-The ability to use the computer.
-The ability to adjust machine speeds, feeds, and electronic machine controls.
-The ability to speak, read, and write English.
-Must have the ability to walk, bend, turn, climb a ladder up to 75 feet, act as the Attendant at the confined space, and lift weights of up to 50 lbs. with, or without, reasonable accommodation.
-Must be flexible and able to work the required overtime, when needed.
-Must have regular and predictable attendance.
-The ability to operate electric hand trucks.
-High level of mechanical aptitude.
-The ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional peers.
-The ability to utilize problem-solving skills.
-Ability to operate a forklift
-Ability to operate an overhead crane
