Overview
Location: 75% time at Valencia ACC Clinic and 25% time at Ortho Main Campus Clinic (Sunset Blvd).
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The primary role of the Sports Medicine Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is to assist the Sports Medicine Program Coordinator/ Lead AT and Children's Orthopedic Center physicians in providing care and interfacing between our community partners and our COC sports medicine team. This would include: community outreach and in-office clinical support, phone consultation and sideline care. Decision-making, having the ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelines. Athletic trainers must have the knowledge about a large range of medical problems. Assessment and evaluation skills and working with other health-care professionals. Attention to detail, should be thorough and detailed with injury tracking and documentation. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 6+ months ATC experience. 3+ years of experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification: BA or BS from accredited institution required. Must be Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); certified in first aid; CPR professional rescuer certification; NPI Number Required. Completion of physician extender residency preferred. Orthopedic technologist - certified preferred.
Pay Scale Information
USD $49,504.00 - USD $89,107.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
