Travel Specialist provides
administrative support through Health and Human Services (HHS) Notification of
Foreign Travel, Department of State, Electronic Country Clearance request,
Foreign Carrier Certificate, and other approvals as determined by HHS’s and the
Centers Control and Prevention (CDC). This person prepares domestic and
international travel orders to the satisfaction of divisions, branches, teams,
and units accordingly. The Travel Specialist receives travel request forms with
specific needs and creates travel shell utilizing CDC’s computerized travel system,
All International Travel Requests (ITR) from inception to completion. Sends finalized documents to the traveler.
CDC Global for new and amended ITR.
ITR compliance with travel policies and procedures prior to advancing through
ITR’s progression through processing
ITRs or Travel Authorizations (TA) is reviewed and found compliant, issues
travel documents to traveler, and closes out the ITR after travel completion.
travelers of Visa status if requested.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) GLOBAL portal.
all assigned ITR’s into TA’s, maintaining awareness providing modifications as
needed throughout approval stages.
with ITR points of contact as required to obtain any additional documentation
with the Global Travel Office (GTO) staff to ensure awareness and transparency
of ITR/TA status to ensure timely progression of ITR/TA approval.

appropriate funding information (provided by ITR/POC) are used in creating TA,
contact responsible party for any discrepancies identified.
sponsored ITR’s/TA’s; ensuring adherence to policy and procedural requirements.
ITR within CDC Global and ensure all required documents are present and track
requested country’s entrance is verified and confirmed for approval
ITR requested traveler’s information and update statuses into the appropriate
electronic data bases in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
traveler with unique country requirements for entry.
electronic country clearances as necessary.
with internal and external customers to ensure actions are completed and
identify and escalate actions when necessary to appropriate personnel.
Monthly Status Report, at a minimum outlining separately for each service
duties as assigned

(5) years of Administrative or similar work experience.
Degree preferred GED or HS Diploma required
working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook

While performing the duties of this

The employee will normally work in
a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to
electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of
operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne
particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
