Title: VP, Investment Banking Director
Location: Baltimore, MD
Overview:
Responsible for a variety of institutional client relationships, business development and transactional activities.
Stays informed of relevant conditions and trends about Fixed Income and specialized markets to detect changes to allow for timely planning and action of trade executions
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for handling major aspects of the institutional client relationship including directing or coordinating the execution of various types of transactions.
Identify “deal appropriate” strategies and negotiate terms and agreements.
Ensure appropriate records have been kept and comply with regulatory requirements.
Participate in civic and cultural organizations.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability for a sustained period (3 to 5 years) to consistently generate new revenue by sourcing engagements and has demonstrated the ability to manage deal teams and lead engagements to a successful completion.
Has extensive product knowledge, technical expertise and strong transaction execution skills.
The position requires extensive external (Institutional clients) and internal (various Bank personnel) communication to fully perform responsibilities.
Sales coverage of the institutional and pro-rata (“buy-side”) bank loan market in both a primary and secondary capacity
Support and interact with the Debt Capital Market’s Structuring and Origination desk on new issuance opportunities
Cover the buy-side bank loan market to identify market clearing price and structure for new issuance
Cover the buy-side secondary market to identify both impending risks and opportunities
Maintain a two-sided (subject to call or non-live) market of existing bank term loans for liquidity purposes
Execute trades on behalf of the bank and our institutional clients
Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:
Will supervise Investment Banking Vice Presidents and Associates.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree plus ten (10) years previous work experience in investment banking or a related field with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity OR a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and seven (7) years previous work experience in investment banking or a related field with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
Minimum of 3 years’ fixed income trading experience
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, graphing, and presentations with a detailed knowledge of financial models.
Knowledge of Windows and PC software programs.
Individual must be comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and be able to handle a high-level of responsibility.
Must possess strong analytical, written and verbal skills as well as demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical ability.
Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an understandable level.
Ability to work under critical time constraints.
Self-motivated, well-organized individual.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
