Job Description (Associate Scientist):
Conduct and participate in virology projects, in particular knowledge in virus purification, buffer formulations, and virus stability assays.
Performing cell cultures; Preparing media and buffer solutions for manufacturing; Monitoring process parameters; Dispensing various amounts of raw materials; High quality documentation of manufacturing activities.
Implement laboratory experiments to analyze oncolytic viruses under the guidance of a Senior Scientist and provide high quality data in a timely manner.
At any given time, he/she will perform a wide and complex variety of assays, tests and studies, including but not limited to: DNA/RNA purification, propagation of virus and plaque assays.
Bachelor s Degree in Biological Sciences with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience or a recent PhD graduate
Prior research experience in molecular virology, molecular biology and/or manufacturing/purification of viruses
Able to execute and interpret in vitro studies with supervision, independently interpreting data and proposing next steps
Ability to contribute to the preparation and submission of technical data reports
This role is based in Rockville, MD. You must be willing and able to work out of this location.
