CIVIL ENGINEER II (EN-20) [1 vacancy]
Attention all Civil Engineers!
As a Civil Engineer II, your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Assist higher grade engineers in administering simple and moderate wastewater construction contracts.
* Assists in reviewing the materials incorporated into the project for compliance; maintains documentation relating to approved materials, certification submittals, and shop drawings incorporated into the project.
* Interprets plans and specifications for simple projects and assist in interpreting plans and specifications for moderate projects
* Performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
* There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services. The Wastewater Engineering & Construction Division, Construction Management Branch, is looking for a Civil Engineer II to assist higher graded engineers in organizing, coordinating and directing all technical and administrative activities of simple wastewater projects.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit. If selected for the position, you must submit a copy of your diploma, official transcript which shows the embossed seal, or applicable FCE prior to hiring. Education requirements must be met at the time of application. All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
Substitution:A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement: You must submit documentation indicating completion of a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited four-year U.S. university/college at the time of application in order to be given credit for the substitution. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. However, if selected for the position, you must submit a copy of your diploma, official transcript which shows the embossed seal, or applicable FCE prior to hiring. Experience requirements (including any allowable substitutions) must be met at the time of application. All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.
NON-QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:
Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Work experience while in an engineering student intern position will not be creditable as equivalent to professional engineering experience
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), as required.
