We are currently seeking a Staff Substation Protection and Control Engineer to join us in our Denver CO office

This position will be for a new engineer that is self-motivated and eager to learn. They will work closely with the senior engineers to ensure the proper execution of substation protection and control project designs. These substation protection and control design projects may range from existing substation retrofits to brand new green-field substations. They will be required to apply good judgement and all necessary codes and standards for successful project execution.

Job Duties

  • Develop the necessary deliverables for projects such as as one-lines, three lines, AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, RTU points lists, etc. with guidance from the senior engineers.

  • Support subcontractors and equipment manufacturers, when required. Candidate will also interface with the client on technical issues.

  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines.

  • Work with CAD technicians to produce electronic drawings that follow client standards.

  • Assist senior engineers and technical staff by coordinating small projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSEE from ABET accredited college/university.

  • EIT certificate preferred. Must be able to obtain within 6 months.

  • 1-5 years of experience

  • Familiar with the NEC and NESC.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
