Hughes has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Test Engineer. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Test and validate SW/HW upgrades for Hughes Jupiter systems for Hughes customer networks.
• Create and document automated and manual test plans and procedures.
• Execute tests, analyze results and generate/provide test reports on daily basis, provide test anomaly analysis, work on engineering testing/changes/upgrades, and security vulnerabilities.
• Implement Linux servers, VMWare hosts, NetApp, HPE blades and NTP servers. Use of Ontap select, OneView and oVirt for testing purposes. 
• Working experience on the following equipment: Network Analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, multi-meter and the oscilloscope.
• Support and troubleshoot Jupiter system issues.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or related technical field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience with Hughes Jupiter systems.
• Fluent in automation via python, shell scripting or other evolving technologies, adaptable to work on databases like oracle, MongoDB & use of application like tableau.
• Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
• Technical ability with implementing, operating and troubleshooting TCP/IP and Ethernet-based network architectures.
• Must have the ability to effectively multi-task.
• Able to thrive in a high pressure, cross functional environment

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
