We currently have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for an experienced Director of Manufacturing Operations. This position reports directly to Vice President of Operations. This position will have multiple production lines producing a diverse portfolio of products and is responsible for all phases of manufacturing including SMT assembly, circuit card test, final assembly, harness and cable assembly, battery assembly and all process development activities.

  • Manage day-to-day operations and analysis of manufacturing schedules, performance levels, with the goal to incorporate and recommend adjustments to achieve optimum performance levels, schedule and shipping.
  • Create and implement manufacturing organizational plans by interacting within all manufacturing, and operational support groups and functions.
  • Develops and participates in budget and financial monitoring activities for span of control Direct and indirect budget development. Provides recommendations for strategic planning.
  • Ensures products are built on schedule to our strict customer requirements through the continued development and implementation of robust practices, while coordinating improvement efforts with other support functions.  
  • Achieves manufacturing objectives by managing to established schedules and by communicating and enforcing policies, operating procedures, and individual responsibilities.  
  • Monitors operational efficiencies, yields, and other data reports to guide labor efforts to meet or exceed standards. 
  • Determines and plans for manning requirements, develops action plans through the evaluation of trend data, and implements corrective actions to reduce rework and scrap.  
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates support for company values and vision and embrace TDSI Core Values.
  • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides leadership for the Manufacturing Departments. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring staff is performing to expectations, interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; preparing performance appraisals, rewarding and providing for employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active mentoring and development of staff is critical element of the supervisory responsibilities.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • May be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • BS/BA degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Technical Field.
  • Must have 10 to 15 years manufacturing electro/mechanical experience with at least 5 years in management.
  • Experience with electronics, radio test requirements and have a working knowledge of surface mount technology.
  • Must be proficient in RF testing knowledge.
  • Solid customer focus and management of key stakeholders.
  • Understand ERP System.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts such as Kanban, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specification control drawing & source control drawing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications Fluent in English
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
