POSITION: Staff Engineer

WORKSITE: 7950 NW 64th Street, Miami, FL 33166

ANNUAL SALARY: %2492,290.00 per year

JOB DUTIES: Prepare proposals for geotechnical engineering projects. Participate in geotechnical engineering field studies, which may includestandard penetration test (SPT), dynamic cone penetration test (DCP), percolation testing and rock coring. Perform geotechnical engineering laboratory testing in accordance to ASTM standards, which may include particle size distribution (or sieve analysis). Atterberg Limits, compaction tests, moisture and organic content tests, soil permeability test, consolidation tests and shear strength testing. Develop geotechnical engineering reports, which may include recommendations for design of foundations, pavements, retaining walls, soil nail walls, bridge abutments and ground improvement methods. Prepare geotechnical engineering reports (standard penetration tests and dynamic cone penetration test) for commercial building construction, which include providing proper construction process details, such as excavation, compaction, phasing, and material requirements. Assist in completing customer surveys, project billing, and attend client meetings. Preparation of drilling instructions for subsurface explorations pavement design and evaluation. Work on underground utility clearance to perform subsurface explorations using the IRTH one call system.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4 months relevant experience with soils mechanics or geotechnical engineering assignments with preparation of Geotechnical engineering reports based on subsurface explorations and laboratory testing results.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have Engineer in Training (E.I.T) or Engineer Intern (E.I.) Certification. Must have any knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering in areas of shallow foundations, deep foundations, ground improvements, geosynthetics, slope stability, pavement design, coastal structures and soil mechanics laboratory testing.
