Position Summary:
The Coordinator, Health Professions is responsible for managing the logistics of open enrollment and contract health care related courses including scheduling, state credentialing, licensure, developing course descriptions, securing rooms and hiring and evaluating instructors within the School of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (CEWD). The Coordinator works directly with programming staff to develop and implement effective recruitment activities that lead to increased enrollment, FTE and completion.

This position reports to the Assistant Director, Apprenticeship and Applied Learning in the School of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (CEWD).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

STRATEGIC PLANNING: Prepares and maintains state credentialing files necessary for state compliance and recertification. Prepares all necessary reports and documentation required by the State Department of Education, Maryland Higher Education Commission, Maryland Higher Education Council and the College, and other governmental or regulatory agencies.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COLLABORATION: Acts as a liaison with numerous groups within the health care community to ensure employer needs are being met by student completers.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT: Oversees the logistics for all aspects of instruction including scheduling, evaluation, purchasing lab supplies, budget development and management and student advising.

SUPERVISION: Oversees the daily activities of lead instructors and lab managers. Provides guidance on how to best mitigate student barriers to ensure success in the classroom and on the job.

MARKETING: Assists CEWD departments with recruitment activities, open houses, orientations…etc.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in health care related discipline with a credential in a clinical healthcare field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of three years' of progressively responsible experience in program administration or development, teaching or training or closely related work experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in working with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment and the ability to deal tactfully with all internal and external constituents.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in health care related discipline with clinical patient care experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to utilize college standard word processing, spreadsheet and database systems at an intermediate level.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

Work Schedule:
M- F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
