Core & Consignment Accountant - Mfg Background REQUIRED

  • Maintain the monthly transaction detail supporting the reconciliation of the Core A/R Offset and the Unreturned Core Inventory accounts.
  • Prepare the monthly G/L reconciliation reports based on the monthly core transaction detail.
  • Analyze any anomalies in the monthly core transaction detail including any reconciliation differences.
  • Prepare the quarterly G/L roll-forwards of all core and consignment inventory accounts.
  • Prepare the quarterly nominal core customer roll-forwards.
  • Reconcile the nominal core customers’ inventory balances with the customers’ perpetual core inventory balances on a quarterly basis.
  • Originate the process of billing the customers for core shrinkage, if required.
  • Assist in the establishment or closure of a customer’s core or consignment account, including assisting in the preparation of any invoices, credits or journal entries required.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) forms when required.
  • Prepare other core or consignment inventory related journal entries for review by Manager of Revenue Recognition and Contract Compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee.

Our client, an American based global leader in premium automotive aftermarket parts seeks a Core and Consignment Accountant responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of Core and Consignment Inventory accounts. Requires a good grasp of more complex accounting issues and an attention to detail. Requires interaction with various levels of internal and external personnel.


  • 5+ years of experience as a General Ledger and/or Cost Accountant in a manufacturing company
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Experience with ERP software (QAD 2008 preferred)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with an emphasis on pivot tables, macros and functions
  • An excellent grasp of complex GAAP and Accounting issues (CPA or other certification a plus)
  • Must be comfortable and professional in interactions with customers and other internal and external personnel
  • Experience with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in a public manufacturing company
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, if required.
