The QC Data Analyst works directly with the Quality and Supplier Quality Engineers, to support the to day-to-day administrative tasks associated with the Incoming Quality (IQC), daily Material Review Board meetings (MRB), the First Article inspection process, and compiling historical quality data into actionable metrics.
The candidate must be competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and be an effective communicator. Experience with SQL would be an additional benefit but is not required. Any experience related to the manufacture of optics, electronics, machined components and / or manufacturing would be a benefit.
Analytical thinking Able to draw relevant conclusions from data, manipulate data for presentation and reporting, identify patterns, and come up with viable solutions, all while adhering to deadlines.
Communication skills Work cross-departmentally with colleagues and management daily. Gather information needed from Production floor with minimal disruption.
Technical writing This position requires a strong grasp of formal English and excellent writing and editing skills.
Self-motivation Can identify solutions independently and work with minimal supervision.
' Conduct daily internal material review board meetings (MRB) (30-40 hrs./wk.)
o Transfer nonconforming materials to MRB site
o Assist with disposition of nonconforming materials (internally manufactured and supplier provided), through discussion with the department engineers.
o Compile supporting information (images, test / inspection data) and upload to Zygo database.
o Assist Quality Engineering with issuing corrective actions to suppliers when needed.
o Assist with stock purges when part nonconformances have been identified.
' Administrative support of the First Article Inspection Report process (FAIR) (10-20 hrs./wk.)
o Create the documentation / forms used to validate all first article products.
o Work with the manufacturing engineering team to document the actions required to approve first article products.
o Track and document the status of first article products within the FAIR database.
o Communicate the status of both accept and reject FAIR's to the Quality and Purchasing teams.
' Support of the Measurement and Test Equipment (MTE) calibration database (10 hrs./wk.)
o Assist with the retrieval / segregation of equipment that is scheduled for calibration.
High School graduate, current college student, experience in manufacturing and quality processes and practices is beneficial but not required.
Knowledge of industry specifications and standards a plus but not required (ISO 9001:2015, AS 9001, ISO 13485, TS 16949, IPC 610 and 620, ASME Y14.5-2009, MIL-PRF-13830B, MIL-C-48497A , ISO-10110, ANSI-OEOSC OP1.002) Position requires no travel.
