Accountemps is currently seeking an entry-level Accounting Clerk to join a reputable Manufacturing/Electrical company in San Carlos! This is a hybrid position to support both the accounting and administrative departments with general administrative work, calendar management, assisting with AP & AR entries, as well as serving as backup for payroll entries.
Ideal candidates for this role will have strong attention to detail, work well handling multiple tasks at once, and have at 6+ months experience working in an accounting department or administrative team. ~Support Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
~Support Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, help with the collection of the past due balance
~General accounting and administration support: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
~Correct transaction documents, which may require revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions
~Post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, manually or by electronic equipment
~Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
~Assist in budgetary control by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers
~Assist with calendar management & scheduling in Microsoft Outlook
~BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred (AS/AA required)
~6+ months of accounting/administrative experience
~Excellent data entry skills
~Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot table/VLOOKUP)
~Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
~Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
~Ability to be pro-active takes initiative and exercises sound judgment
~detail oriented presence with the ability to build credibility and collaborate directly with office leadership
~Has a customer-driven mindset and insatiable appetite for engineering excellence and drive for outcomes
~Ability to organize, multitask, priorities and work under pressure
