Job Summary: The main role of the HR Assistant is to assistant the Plant HR Manager with daily plant duties. This will include assistance with recruiting, employee relations and administrative tasks.



Essential Functions:


  • Assist in Full cycle recruiting; interviewing and recommending for selection applicants to fill vacant positions for hourly and temporary associates

  • Coordinate employment activities related to job postings and bids, interviewing, hiring, orientation and exit interviews for hourly associates

  • Assist in the documentation of and handling of associate relations for hourly and temporary associates, including discipline, leave tracking (FMLA, Personal, etc.) and policy enforcement with assistance and input from Plant HR Manager

  • Assist in developing job analyses, job descriptions and recommend compensation adjustments

  • Assist in Safety Committee Team; train new hires on safety expectation and reporting. Follow up with management/supervisors for any safety incidents, countermeasures and/or safety recommendations.

  • Assist Plant HR Manager with training needs and investigate and introduce external and internal training opportunities when needed

  • Assist in the coordination of Employee Appreciation Activities and Small Rewards Program.

  • Provide communication link between HR, Management and Associates

  • Assist in filing and maintenance of personnel files

  • All other duties assigned by management




Non-Essential Functions:


  • Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company




Education:


  • Associates degree in a Human Resources, preferably with desire to obtain Bachelor's OR 3-5 years related experience




Experience/Skills:


  • 0-2 years of experience in Human Resources




  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with ADP, HRIS and E-Time Attendance a plus

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
