Float Custodian

Responsibilities:
Under general direction of a Custodial Supervisor, the Float Team is responsible for:
- Day-to-day custodial operations of multiple campus buildings
- General cleaning, light maintenance work
- Snow shoveling in the winter
- Event set-up
- Carpet and floor care
- Bed making during summer conference season
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- One year experience in custodial work preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment interacting with faculty, fellow staff members and students
- Demonstrate good customer service and communication skills, and perform with the highest degree of integrity
- Ability to comply with standing instructions provided by operating manuals, safety data sheets, safety rules and regulations for personal protection and safety regarding equipment and chemical usage.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and sanitizing dispensing units.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds with assistance, stand for prolonged period of times, work on ladders, utilize wearable equipment
- Experience in general cleaning, maintenance, carpet & floor care is desirable
- Valid Driver's License
Flexible hours and occasional overtime may be required; which may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Application review will begin immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay starts at $19.75 per hour.
